Peace at last
All seems to have quietened down on the roads for now. Here’s hoping for an easier commute tomorrow!
Traffic at Cooper Bridge has also now eased.
Regarding the earlier accident on Calderdale Way, all lanes have now also re-opened there with traffic back to normal.
All lanes have now re-opened from the earlier crash at J24 on the M62 and traffic is slowly easing. There were lane closures an hour after the accident which involved the Ford and two vans.

Lanes reopened after M62 crash
We’ve had an update on the M62 crash:
- Police called were called at 5.27pm to a crash at junction 24 (Ainley Top)
- There was a three-vehicle crash on the M62 westbound carriageway
- One of the cars was a Ford C-Max - the driver, a man in his late 30s, was injured
- Ambulances attended the scene
- The cars have been moved over to the hard shoulder and just one lane remains closed.

- Delays of 40 minutes
- Expected to clear between 7.15pm-7.30pm

Three lanes closed and stop-start traffic due to accident on M62 Westbound between J25 A644 (Brighouse) and J24 A629 (Ainley Top), congestion to J26 M606 / A58 (Chain Bar). Matrix sign set to 40 mph.
Lanes one, two and three (of four) closed. Affecting travel from Leeds towards Manchester. Traffic on this route was already slow due to an earlier accident near J18.

Very slow traffic and long delays due to earlier accident, two lorries involved on M62 Westbound between J19 A6046 (Heywood) and J18 M60 / M66 (Simister Island), congestion on M62 to J21 A640 (Milnrow). In the roadworks area. All lanes have been re-opened.
Lanes one and two (of three) were closed until around 14:35. Affecting traffic heading towards Manchester. Traffic is also slow eastbound past the scene.

Thundersnow was seen in different parts of Huddersfield this morning, including on the M62.
