CONCERN is growing for a man who has been missing for almost a month.

Alan Holt, 40, was reported missing on October 2 but was last seen at his home on Albany Road in Dalton on September 27.

Since his disappearance police have had information that has led officers to believe that Alan may be sleeping rough, possibly in the Mirfield or Wakefield area.

There have been possible sightings of Alan on October 8 in the grounds of St Mary’s Church, Mirfield when he was believed to have been seen wearing a blue jumper and jeans and had a Lidl or Aldi carrier bag with him.

They are also investigating a sighting in the Woodhead Road area of Lower Hopton on October 10 and at Sandal Grange in Wakefield on October 18.

Insp Steph Wiseman, of Kirklees police said: “We are extremely concerned for Alan’s welfare as he has been missing for nearly a month now and requires medication that he does not have with him.

“Due to the time that Alan has been missing and apparently sleeping rough, he may now have an unkempt beard and a dishevelled appearance.

“I am appealing for anyone with information on Alan’s whereabouts, or anyone who sees him, to contact the police immediately.”

Alan is described as being a white man, 5ft 8ins tall and of slim build. He is balding on top, with black hair at the back and sides. He also has a tattoo on his left shoulder that reads ‘On Fire’.

People with information should call the Kirklees police Missing Person Unit via 101.
