SEVERAL Huddersfield entertainers are joining forces to raise money for a badly injured rugby player.

Danny Scott suffered serious spinal injuries while playing for Moldgreen Amateur Rugby League Club in January.

Danny, 22, of Marsh, is still in hospital.

Dalton singer Craig Morgan - who used to play rugby for Moldgreen - has organised musicians for a fundraising concert tomorrow at 7pm at the Gasworks Club, Gasworks Street, off Leeds Road. It costs £5 on the door.

The entertainers include new Huddersfield band The Goodfellas. The duo, Darren Morgan and Rob Woolly, do music from the 1960s up to now.

Others are Craig and his guitarist Stevie G plus vocalist Vinny from Huddersfield band Lights Out.

Another vocalist is Blackpool-based Peter G.

Mick King and Jill Sykes from Moldgreen Amateur Rugby League Club have also helped to organise the event.

Richard Kavanagh has also assisted.

Two Almondbury rugby players have promised to do a Full Monty strip with a difference.

Raffle prizes have been collected from businesses across Huddersfield by Craig's sister Jayne Morgan- Connor and by Lesley Kilner, who both live in Almondbury.

Jayne said: "Lots of businesses have been generous and we are very thankful for their support."
