IT is easier to buy the main ingredient for a homemade bomb than large numbers of aspirin pills, the coroner hearing the 7/7 inquest observed.
Lady Justice Hallett heard that would-be terrorists could still buy significant quantities of hydrogen peroxide “without much risk of detection”.
The four bombers purchased large amounts of the chemical in the months before their deadly mission.
But none of the sellers alerted the police with concerns about why the men wanted so much of it, the inquest heard.
Lady Justice Hallett noted: “So you get cross-examined by the chemist if you want to buy too many aspirin, but you can buy as much hydrogen peroxide.”
