THE search is on to find four businesses in Kirklees to take part in a free energy and waste survey.

The Green Business Network is seeking volunteers to take part in a pilot scheme which could bring benefits to companies across the district.

The four firms will get advice on energy saving measures - to cut their power and water bills - as well as help to improve waste management and meet environmental laws.

Eligible businesses must be based in Kirklees, employ no more than 50 staff, work in manufacturing, processing or the wholesale sector and have high energy use.

The scheme, funded by Kirklees Council, aims to produce an environmental "audit pack" which can be extended to other businesses in the district.

The pilot scheme will run throughout January and February next year.

The Green Business Network is a group supported by Kirklees and Calderdale councils to promote environmental improvement.
