A licence review for a Golcar pub has been adjourned.

Kirklees councillors were set to rule yesterday on the future of the premises licence of the Junction One bar due to alleged noise problems.

But the meeting was adjourned to give the bar’s owners, Andrew and Kathryn Ratcliffe, time to seek legal representation.

In yesterday’s brief meeting Clr Mumtaz Hussain, Phil Scott and Christine Smith heard queries about how much notification of the meeting the Ratcliffes had prior to the meeting.

Kirklees aims to allow five working days, but it could not be confirmed when the letter was received. The licence review was prompted after a series of noise complaints about the Knowle Road, Golcar venue to the council’s environmental health department.

Complaints range from September 2011 to November 24, 2013.

The licence review will now take place at Huddersfield Town Hall on February 10.
