CHRIS Marshall is hoping the numbers add up one more time as he appears in the Countdown quarter final.
The Huddersfield accountant, who lives in Brighouse, will appear on the Channel 4 TV show at 2.40pm on Thursday.
As seventh seed, Chris will be taking on the second seed.
And he’s done a bit of research on his competitor. Chris said: “Since July I’ve been practising a lot and once I found out who I’d be playing I did a little research on him, but being number two seed he doesn’t have many weak points so I knew it was going to be a good, tough game and I just had to focus on my own game and do my best.”
Chris actually filmed the quarter final show in November but is tight-lipped on the result.
He last appeared in July when he had an unbeaten win of eight shows.
Chris added: “The overall experience was fantastic.
“The whole Countdown team were very friendly right from the runner to the series producer.
“All the contestants I met were really nice and I hope to stay in touch with some of them in the future.
“After being unbeaten back in July it took a while to sink in as it was so unexpected.
“I had just hoped to put in a decent performance and maybe to win once or twice but I never expected to win eight in a row.”
He scored over 70 points during his unbeaten run and he hopes the points add up in the quarter final.
Since July he’s had plenty of time to prepare and had been practising and testing himself.
Chris, who works at the Wheawill and Sudworth accountants at Westgate, said the show is filmed as live and contestants have to be on the top of their game.
It’s hosted by Nick Hewer, who is Lord Alan Sugar’s sidekick on The Apprentice, along with Rachel Riley.
