Huddersfield Magistrates’ recorded the following decisions on April 5:

Tahira Delaney, 46, of Saville Court, Saville Street, Milnsbridge. Using a vehicle on the road after making a Statutory Off-Road Notification on Pyenot Hall Lane, Cleckheaton, on January 14, 2016. Fined £130 and ordered to pay vehicle excise back duty of £180 and £90 costs.

Toni Louise Keane, 31, of Langdale Street, Elland. Stole power tools worth £114 and committed assault in B&Q, Leeds Road, Huddersfield, on March 13. Also stole hair straighteners and a razor worth £125 from Wilkinsons, Huddersfield, on February 14. Failed to surrender to custody at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court on March 28. Jailed for 16 weeks. Ordered to pay a £115 surcharge.

Shamsulhaq Dadi Patel, of Douglas Street, Thornhill Lees, Dewsbury. Parked in a disabled space using a badge for the chronically sick or disabled when he was not entitled to, on Tithe Barn Street, Dewsbury, on September 23, 2016. Fined £80 and ordered to pay a £30 surcharge and £200 costs.

Mark Luke Boothroyd, 27, of Edgeware, Waterloo. Possession of an article which had a bladed article, namely a small locking knife, and committed assault, on Kirkgate, Huddersfield, on October 16. Jailed for 26 weeks. Ordered to pay a £115 surcharge. Weapon to be forfeited and destroyed.

Amer Tazim, 25, of Manor Way, Staincliffe, Batley. Committed assault, caused £100 damage to a phone and committed fraud, as stole £200 from a debit card belonging to Sumaya Mulla on Cambridge Street, Batley, on December 7. Fined £340 in total and ordered to pay a £30 surcharge, £500 costs and £100 compensation.

Huddersfield Magistrates’ recorded the following decisions on April 6:

Simon Lee Chambers, 31, of Butts Hill, Gomersal, Cleckheaton. Stole ham and cheese worth £40 from the Cooperative Store, Batley, on February 22. Jailed for four weeks. Ordered to pay a £40 surcharge.

James Richard Friedl, 35, of Bow Street, Springwood. Stole meat worth £15 from the Cooperative, Market Street, Holmfirth, on February 6. Discharged conditionally for 12 months. Ordered to pay a £20 surcharge and £200 costs.

Sean David Milnes, 31, of Slipper Lane, Mirfield. Speeding on the Ossett Bypass on November 3. Fined £130 and ordered to pay a £30 surcharge and £85 costs. Driving licence endorsed with three points.

Gareth Paxman, 27, of Cross Street, Paddock. Stole a pack of Special Brew from Longwood Mini Market, Longwood Road, Paddock, on February 19. Also stole protein powders, vitamins and a bottle of orange juice worth £663.34 from Boots, King Street, Huddersfield, on three occasions between March 7 and 8. Jailed for 12 weeks. Ordered to pay a £115 surcharge.

Daniel Cock, 39, of Copley Avenue, Meltham. Stole a bottle of champagne worth £35 from the Cooperative, Huddersfield Road, Meltham, Holmfirth, on July 10, 2016. Also made off without paying for £9.44 of fuel on May 1, 2016. Discharged conditionally for 12 months. Ordered to pay £44.44 compensation, a £20 surcharge and £85 costs.

Jay Gair, 34, of St Matthews Project, Cemetery Road, Westtown, Dewsbury. Stole several girls dresses and clothing worth £102 from Next, Railway Street, Dewsbury, on April 2. Stole four trifles worth £10.58 from Asda, Dewsbury, on April 1 and creme eggs worth £2 from Poundworld, Market Place, Dewsbury, on March 31. Failed to comply with the requirements of a community order as did not attend drug tests on February 2 and March 16. Community order revoked. Jailed for 10 weeks. Ordered to pay a £115 surcharge.

Daniel James Rutter, 29, of Boothroyd Green, Dewsbury. Caused £210 of damage to a rear windscreen of a car in Mirfield on December 5. Discharged conditionally for 12 months. Ordered to pay £210 compensation, a £20 surcharge and £85 costs.

Craig Hewitt, 33, of Redberry Avenue, Heckmondwike. Trespassed at Europa House, Hick Lane, Batley, with intent to steal, on September 8. Also failed to surrender to custody at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court on January 11. Handed a 12-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months. Ordered to pay £760 compensation.

Aaron Charley Ives, 26, of Ealand Road, Wilton, Batley. Possession of cannabis on Bradford Road, Batley, and cocaine on Ealand Road, Batley, on March 5. Drugs to be forfeited and destroyed. Fined £100 and ordered to pay £30 surcharge and £85 costs.

Christopher Steadman, 49, of Sackville Street, Ravensthorpe, Dewsbury. Assault in Ravensthorpe, Dewsbury, on February 4. Also failed to surrender to custody at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court on February 21. Discharged conditionally for 12 months. Ordered to pay a £20 surcharge and £85 costs.

Mohamed Waseem Tariq, 23, of Mortimer Avenue, Healey, Batley. Stole property belonging to West Yorkshire Police on Mortimer Avenue, Healey, Batley, on March 6. Fined £250 and ordered to pay £30 surcharge and £80 costs.

Araf Hussain, 46, of Duke Street, Ravensthorpe, Dewsbury. Used threatening, abusive or insulting or behaviour or disorderly behaviour in Dewsbury, on October 26. This offence motivated by hostility towards someone of a particular sexual orientation. Fined £225 and ordered to pay a £30 surcharge and £85 costs.

Balraj Singh, 37, of Deighton Road, Deighton. Assault in Huddersfield on September 13. Community order made for 40 hours of unpaid work to be completed within the next 12 months. Ordered to pay £250 compensations, an £85 surcharge and £85 costs.

Doris Hatch, 49, of Moorside Road, Dewsbury Moor, Dewsbury. Possession of a kitchen knife in a public place, namely North Park Street, Westborough, Dewsbury. Community order made with a rehabilitation activity requirement for up to 20 days and 80 hours of unpaid work to be completed within the next 12 months. Ordered to pay an £85 surcharge and £85 costs. Knife to be forfeited and destroyed.

Nathan John Hill, 21, of Peel Avenue, Batley. Stole a Samsung tablet worth £170 and committed fraud, by taking £50 from a bank account on March 18. Community order with a rehabilitation activity requirement for up to 10 days and to 40 hours of unpaid work to be completed within the next 12 months. Ordered to pay an £85 surcharge and £85 costs.

Dean Paul Langford, 37, of Leeside Avenue, Brackenhall. Stole clothing worth £155. 97 from Sports Direct, Huddersfield, on March 21. Community order made for drug rehabilitation with Lifeline for six months. Ordered to pay £85 surcharge.

Eamon O’Leary, 41, of Healds Avenue, Littletown, Liversedge. Stole three bottles of alcohol worth £43 from Tesco, Northgate, Cleckheaton, on March 23. Ordered to pay £43 compensation, a £30 surcharge and £85 costs.

Laura Jane Heywood, 23, of no fixed address. Assault at the junction of Kirkstall Road and Willow Road, Leeds, on February 11. The offence was racially aggravated. Damaged a microwave and curtain pole worth £50 on Laurel Drive, Batley, on February 28. Also failed to surrender to custody at Leeds Magistrates’ Court on March 15 and 21. Also failed to comply with supervision requirements, as did not attend probation supervision appointments on January 10 and February 16. Committed while subject to a community order. Dealt with for original offences of assaulting a police officer Jailed for 34 weeks in total. Ordered to pay £115 compensation.

Andrew Robert Sykes, 38, of Foxroyd Lane, Thornhill, Dewsbury. Caused £80 of damage to a cell in Castlegate Police Station, Albion Street, Huddersfield, on December 4. Also drink driving and driving without a licence or insurance on Thornhill, Dewsbury, on December 2. Failed to surrender to custody at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court on January 11 and April 4. Curfew with electronic monitoring imposed for 16 weeks and community order made with a rehabilitation activity requirement for up to 20 days. Ordered to pay £85 surcharge. Banned from driving for 26 months. Lee Cockroft, 30, of Moor End Lane, Dewsbury. Kept an unlicensed vehicle in White Rose Car Park, Leeds, on July 23. Fined £50 and ordered to pay vehicle excise back duty of £166.25 and £85 costs.

Damian James Joseph Carroll, 28, of no fixed address. Breach of peace in Huddersfield on April 8. Bound over in sum of £50 for 12 months to keep the peace.

Paul Steadman, 44, of no fixed address. Stole a Samsung S6 mobile phone worth £275, from Moneypennies Ltd, Dewsbury, on December 20. Jailed for eight weeks. Ordered to pay £275 compensation.

Huddersfield Magistrates’ recorded the following decisions on April 11:

Renata Farrow, 32, of Goole Lane, Brighouse. Committed fraud as claimed she had the right to access money from an account set up for the care of her grandmother, intending to take £8,510 for herself, in Halifax between March 31 and October 20, 2015. Handed an 18-week prison sentence suspended for 18 months. Rehabilitation activity requirement for up to 10 days. Ordered to pay £5,000 compensation.

Shaun Lumb, 56, of Woodlands Road, Gomersal, Cleckheaton. Committed fraud, as failed to disclose full details of his income to the Department of Work and Pensions in Dewsbury. Curfew requirement with electronic monitoring imposed for six weeks. Ordered to pay a £60 surcharge and £25 costs.

Kay Sowden, 28, of Brooke Street, Brighouse. Made a false statement to the Department for Work and Pensions in Brighouse, on March 23. Also failed to notify the department of a change of circumstances between October 4 and January 26, namely that she was living with husband Gareth Hodgson. Community order made for 120 hours of unpaid work to be completed within the next 12 months. Ordered to pay £60 surcharge and £85 costs.

Wayne Anthony Thornton, 29, of Thorncliffe Street, Lindley. Speeding on Bradford Road, Huddersfield, on April 25, 2016. Fined £100 and ordered to pay a £30 surcharge and £85 costs. Driving licence endorsed with three points.

Jordan Jon Matthews, 29, of Quarmby Road, Quarmby, Huddersfield. Possession of cannabis in Huddersfield on December 28. Community order made for drug rehabilitation with Lifeline for six months and a rehabilitation activity requirement for up to 15 days. Ordered to pay an £85 surcharge and £85 costs. Drugs to be forfeited and destroyed.

Michael Anthony Ellis, 38, of Cross Road, Thornhill, Dewsbury. Assault on Cross Road, Thornhill, Dewsbury, on March 25. Fined £180 and ordered to pay a £30 surcharge and £85 costs.

Darren Mark Marsden, 38, of Croftlands, Newsome. Stole items worth £179.78 from Morrisons, Waterloo, on March 22. Curfew with electronic monitoring imposed for eight weeks and community order made for drug rehabilitation with Lifeline for six months. Ordered to pay an £85 surcharge and £85 costs.

Niculae Lucian-Albu, 42, of Staincliffe Crescent, Dewsbury. Failed to comply with the requirements of a community order, as did not keep in contact with responsible officer on September 10, 2016. Order varied – six hours of unpaid work to be completed within the next 12 months. Ordered to pay £50 costs.

Shazad Hussain, 37, of Alpine Close, Batley. Used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour on Primrose Lane, Mirfield, on September 11. Restraining order made until April 11, 2019. Fined £162, and ordered to pay a £30 surcharge and £200 costs.

Umayr Zamir, 27, of Howard Street, Batley Carr, Batley. Application made to vary a community order, as the defendant has changed residence. Order varied – curfew with electronic monitoring imposed for eight weeks.

Sakib Farid, 37, of Scarborough Street, Saville Street, Dewsbury. Parked in a disabled space using a badge for the chronically sick or disabled when he was not entitled to, in Dewsbury on December 7. Fined £300 and ordered to pay £30 surcharge and £349 costs.

Istekhar Hussain, 46, of Norwood Road, Birkby. Refused to carry out a booking for a disabled person in his private hire vehicle at Huddersfield Leisure Centre on February 4 on the grounds that the disabled person was accompanied by an assistance dog. Fined £100 and ordered to pay £300 surcharge and £317 costs.

Helen Tracey Shires, 38, of Dewsbury Moor, Dewsbury. Parked in a disabled space using a badge for the chronically sick or disabled, when she was not entitled to, in Dewsbury on December 1. Fined £440 and ordered to pay a £44 surcharge and £254 costs.

Thomas William Bolam, 49, of Withens Road, Batley. Assaulted a police officer in Birstall on November 20. Community order made for drug rehabilitation with Lifeline for six months and 120 hours of unpaid work to be completed within the next 12 months. Ordered to pay £150 compensation, an £85 surcharge and £100 costs.
