Court briefs: Fraud, assault and other cases from Kirklees Magistrates Courts

Huddersfield magistrates recorded the following decisions on April 5:

Paul David Gledhill (35), Woodside Road, Beaumont Park. Resisting arrest. Fined £410 with £41 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Matthew David Taylor (43), Highroyd Crescent, Huddersfield. Theft. Curfew order for 21 days and ordered to pay £60 victim surcharge.

Aaran Lee Barden (23), Manchester Road, Milnsbridge. Drunk and disorderly behaviour and breach of conditional discharge. Fined £80 with £20 victim surcharge.

Ayrton Brown (22), Bedale Drive, Skelmanthorpe. Threatening behaviour and in possession of cannabis. Fined £245 with £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Robert Habimana (40), Bradford Road, Fartown. In possession of an offensive weapon and driving without correct licence and without insurance. Community order for 12 months and ordered to pay £60 victim surcharge and £85 costs (8pts).

Ryan Timothy Martin Thorpe (20), Westerley Way, Shelley. Threatening behaviour. Fined £165 with £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Simon Watkinson (42), Hillside View, Linthwaite. Taking vehicle without owner’s consent, failing to provide breath specimen, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance. Community order for 12 months and ordered to pay £100 fine, £60 victim surcharge, £85 costs and banned from driving for four years.

Adam Wilby (24), Industrial Street, Primrose Hill. Fraud and assault. Curfew order for 16 weeks and ordered to pay £60 victim surcharge, £300 costs and £100 compensation.

Gareth Anthony Quinn (32), Scotgate Road, Honley. Breach of community order. Order revoked. Charged with theft and assault. Prison for 16 weeks, suspended for 12 months, curfew order for 10 weeks and ordered to pay £200 compensation.

Paul Garry Strickland (54), Thornhill Road, Longwood. Assault. Fined £400, £75 compensation and £40 victim surcharge.

Samiira Abdullah (25), Overthorpe Road, Dewsbury. Breach of community order. Order revoked. Charged with fraud. Prison for four weeks.

Iftikar Ali (44), Edale Avenue, Newsome. Breach of community order. Order to continue with an additional six weeks curfew order.

Kevin Andrew Brooke (42), Hare Park Avenue, Hightown, Liversedge. Breach of curfew order. Order to continue.

Michael Howarth (18), School Crescent. Breach of community order. Order to continue, prison for 16 weeks, suspended for 12 months.

Liam Frain (24), Unity Court, Dewsbury. Breach of restraining order. Conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £15 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Brian Kettlewell (64), Barracks Fold, Hepworth. Driving with excess alcohol. Fined £80 with £20 victim surcharge, £85 costs and banned from driving for 24 months.
