POLICE are investigating video footage showing groups of teenagers fighting each other in a West Yorkshire town.

The videos show bare-chested youths fighting as crowds cheer them on in the Holmewood area of Bradford.

One youth is knocked to the ground before being punched in the face until he is covered in blood.

The videos were posted on the YouTube website but removed after complaints from the city council. The authority condemned the clips as "reprehensible".

West Yorkshire Police said they had increased patrols in the area and would visit schools as part of their investigations into reports of street fighting.

A spokeswoman said: "West Yorkshire Police are aware of activities, like those that appeared in the YouTube videos, that go on across the force and country.

"West Yorkshire Police cannot base investigations on video clips. If a crime is reported we will investigate it.”
