ONE lane of the M62 had to be closed this morning following a smash.
The accident happened on the westbound carriageway near to the Saddleworth junction at about 7.05am.
Road traffic police said four cars were involved in the crash.
The third lane was closed while emergency crews removed the wreckage and rush-hour traffic slowed to a crawl.
Police said there were no reports of any injuries to the drivers or occupants of the cars.
