A MAN who simply loves his pet dog is celebrating after it won a top prize at Crufts.
Mr Pino Rascini, of Dalton, put his four-year-old golden retriever, Leo, into the post graduate category for the breed at the annual show - and he won!
"He did very well in what was one of the biggest classes in show with 32 dogs on display," he said.
Entry into the category is based on age and merit.
Mr Rascini's seven-year-old golden retriever Dante has also qualified for Crufts in the past.
"I don't breed dogs, they are just my pets and I love them.
"I am also learning things about them from the breeder.
"I have a restaurant in Mirfield and I am at work a lot of the time so having a dog give me chance to get out and do something different."
He said he hopes to get more dogs and show them eventually.
"Golden retrievers are great company and they are good family dogs," he said.
