A cyclist has died in a road tragedy in Brighouse
And police have confirmed that the driver involved has been arrested.
Police were called to Elland Road shortly after 1.20pm today to a report of a collision between a Citroen C5 car and a pedal cycle.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “The male cycle rider sadly passed away at the scene as a result of injuries from the collision.

“A road closure remains in place on Elland Road while accident investigation work is completed.”
A 57-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in police custody.
The accident happened on Elland Road near its junction with Ashday Lane near Brookfoot not far from the Casa bar and restaurant.
