A MOUNTAIN bike rider was punched by a motorist as he cycled around Crosland Moor.

The 26-year-old victim was riding his bike when he heard a car with a loud car exhaust behind him. After driving past him a man got out, stopped in front of him and shouted at him. He was then grabbed by another man who punched him.

The cyclist managed to elbow one of the suspects and ran off. When he returned, his bike, a grey Saracen mountain bike with white forks, had been stolen.

The incident happened on Thursday, November 1, at 6.20pm on Park Road West, but details have only just been released by police.

The driver of the car is described as a white man, 29 or 30 years old, 5ft 9ins to 6ft tall of a stocky build. He was bald and wore a white T-shirt.

The passenger in the car was also white, aged 26 or 27, 5ft 11ins tall and stockily built. He too was bald and also wore a white T-shirt.

The final suspect is a skinny white man. He has mousey coloured hair and may have been wearing glasses.
