DADS from Huddersfield took part in a major demonstration in London organised by the Fathers 4 Justice pressure group.

Andy Lindley, of Outlane, and Ervin Williams, from Wakefield, were among a dozen people who travelled down from the group's Huddersfield branch to support the national campaign for equal parenting following divorce or separation in Trafalgar Square.

The theme was Put The Father Back Into Christmas, to get across the pain of being apart from their children at this time of year.

A Fathers 4 Justice spokesman said: "Over 2m children will not spend Christmas with their fathers, which amounts to nothing less than the emotional child abuse of those children."

Children, grandparents, uncles and aunts joined the fathers on their three-hour march round the capital.

F4J founder Matt O'Connor promised that the group's high-profile actions to highlight its bid for radical reform of family law will carry on next year.
