A BAND and dance night at Huddersfield Fire Station is to raise charity cash.

The event at the station at the top of Outcote Bank near Huddersfield town centre will raise money for Macmillan Nurses and the Fire Services National Benevolent Fund.

The event on Saturday will feature Huddersfield band Still Buzzin and a disco.

Food will be pie and peas or a vegetarian option and costs just £1.50.

The open day at Huddersfield Station last summer raised £400 for the West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust and £400 for the Fire Services National Benevolent Fund. Cheques will be given to representatives of both these charities on the night.

The evening starts at 8pm, finishes at midnight and tickets cost £5. They are available from Huddersfield Fire Station.

The event will be held in the main fire station bay with the fire engines parked in the back yard.

People attending should park in Springwood car park next to the station.
