A TEENAGER has danced her way into a top national final.

Annabel Davidson, 16, of Kirkburton, will compete in the final of the Miss Dance of Great Britain Competition.

The Shelley College pupil, who attends the Georgie School of Dance in Shelley, will perform a routine to the Phil Collins music from the cartoon film Tarzan.

She will be up against 52 other dancers on June 11 at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool.

She saw off stiff competition in a regional heat to qualify for the final.

Dance school principal Donna George said: "She was excellent. She was up against girls who were much older, much more experienced at doing this.

"She was a first- timer and put the work in. She deserved it.

"We were very proud of her.

"It's a very big competition. It's the biggest amateur dance competition in the country."
