AN animal farm has a new arrival.
The cute little donkey was brought into the world at Cannon Hall Farm at Cawthorne, near Barnsley.
Now its handlers are looking for a name for the animal.
Its parents are called Ken and Deirdre - so something from Coronation Street has not been ruled out.
A suggestion box is being set up in the farm so people can put forward their ideas when they come along to visit her.
Farmer Roger Nicholson said: "It is unusual for a donkey to give birth at this time of year - usually it takes place in spring.
"For a donkey to give birth near Christmas is fairly special."
Six other donkeys are also expecting so the farm will have more new arrivals in the spring.
The privately run farm, next to Cannon Hall, has eight donkeys - two of which are foals.
The newborn foal will be kept inside as her coat is not waterproof yet.
Mr Nicholson said: "If foals get their coats wet they never dry out, as they are not weather resistant.
"We have to keep them inside to stop them catching pneumonia."
The donkeys will be featured in a nativity scene at the farm closer to Christmas.
Cannon Hall is a popular attraction for families across the Huddersfield area.
