CRICKET legend and Strictly Come Dancing star Darren Gough won some new fans when he waltzed into Huddersfield.
The England fast bowler, looking dapper in white tie and tails, wowed shoppers outside the Yorkshire Building Society in New Street yesterday.
He taught customers and staff at the branch some basic ballroom dance steps as part of a visit to promote the society's range of financial services.
Darren, nicknamed Dazzler, showed off his tango, foxtrot and quick-step for delighted visitors.
Society chiefs hope his visit will make people more relaxed about visiting the branch to sort out their finances.
The former Yorkshire paceman and his dance partner Lilia Kopylova are among the favourites to win the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing talent show.
He said: "I'm delighted to be involved with the Yorkshire Building Society this initiative.
"I'm enjoying taking time out from the show and meeting fans in Huddersfield."
David Holmes, corporate affairs manager for the society, said: "Darren's breathtaking performances on Strictly Come Dancing have captured the public's imagination - while his strong affinity with Yorkshire will help put the fun back into finance for those who feel daunted by it."
* The programme is screened on BBC1 on Saturdays at 6.25pm.
