KIND-hearted workers at David Brown’s are raising thousands of pounds for charity to mark the company’s 150th anniversary this year.

Several will benefit over the year and the latest is the Royal National Institute for Deaf People, which has received £1,623.

Staff at David Brown Gear Systems in Lockwood have been asked to nominate charities and Malcolm Turner nominated RNID because his grandson, Harry Woodhouse, is partially deaf.

The money was raised by a charity race evening at Huddersfield Lawn Tennis and Squash Club in Edgerton, attended by about 100 people.

David Brown group administrator Sue Elvidge said: “So far this year we have raised £4,600 for charities. We are delighted with the total so far and will keep up the good work!’’
