A day of activities devoted to Dr Who will be held in Huddersfield this weekend .

Film and TV collectables shop Diversions at Imperial Arcade is hosting the celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of the BBC’s Time Lord.

Shop owner Gareth Hughes will be kitted out as Tom Baker while Heather Cobb, project worker at the S2R Packhorse Gallery at the Packhorse Shopping Centre, has created a replica of Tom Baker’s 12ft scarf.

A proportion of any takings on the day will be donated to S2R, a mental health charity.

The gallery breaks down stigma about mental health by showing art from a wide range of local artists, many of whom have had experiences of mental illness.

Mr Hughes said: “We have worked with artists from this gallery since we opened a year ago and are proud to support local artists and the charity.”
