WOMEN interested in a career in sports journalism can speak to two high-profile practitioners soon.

Huddersfield University is hosting a special open day aimed at women getting into sports writing and broadcasting.

BBC Look North sports reporter Tanya Arnold and The Sun newspaper's rugby league journalist Julie Stott will be at the day to offer advice.

Event organiser Dr Peter Davies, who teaches the sports journalism degree course, said there were plenty of new opportunities in the field.

The open day runs from 1.15am to 4.15pm on Wednesday, March 8.
