AN ALCOHOLIC whose addiction started when he was 16 died after a bang to the head, an inquest heard.
Unemployed Robert Mallinson, 42, of Lowergate, Paddock, was found dead by a schoolgirl who used to walk his dog on August 30, 2003.
He was found on the sofa and had blood on his nose and hands.
A post-mortem, carried out at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, revealed Mr Mallinson died from a head injury he is believed to have suffered during a fall while he was drunk.
Recording a verdict of accidental death coroner Roger Whittaker said: "He had a long history of falling over while he was intoxicated."
