A WOMAN who spent more than 60 years delivering the news in Waterloo has died aged 77.
Joan Sharp, née Crossley, worked alongside her husband, Herbert, in the newsagent's shop which her father built in 1933.
Mrs Sharp was just 14 when she joined her father, Clifford, behind the counter.
She and her husband, of Waterloo Road, worked in the shop for more than 30 years and celebrated their golden wedding there.
They retired in October, 2000.
Mrs Sharp also leaves a son, Stephen, and grand-daughters Rebecca and Sarah.
