IS multiculturalism dead? is the question being asked by debating group The Huddersfield Salon next week.

The discussion will look at whether or not Britain should scrap multiculturalism in favour of greater integration and cohesion.

Speaking will be Munira Mirza, a researcher on issues related to cultural policy and identity and a founding member of the Manifesto Club, an organisation that aims to champion humanist politics in the 21st Century. She will argue that multiculturalism is dead.

Presenting the case for “interculturalism” as a new model will be Phil Wood, partner in Comedia, a group interested in transforming cities and a director of its Intercultural City Project.

The debate will be at The Media Centre on Thursday December 6 at 6pm.
