A defendant fled court and went on the run while being sentenced.
Teenager Ryan Ellis was being sentenced for a breach of order at Leeds Crown Court when he escaped lawful custody on Tuesday.
The 19-year-old left the court building and headed for The Headrow, but hasn’t been seen since.
Police are now appealing to anyone in West Yorkshire who may have seen or know of the whereabouts of the Leeds teenager, who has connections in South Leeds.
Chief Inspector Ian Croft, of Leeds District Police, said: “We are appealing for information to locate Ellis who is known to frequent the Beeston and Hunslet area of Leeds.
“Anyone who sees him is asked to ring Leeds District CID on 101.
“Information about his location can also be given anonymously to the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.”
