A MAN has appeared in court following a drunken rant at hotel staff.

Evgeny Dogleav, of Wood View in Deighton, was before Kirklees Magistrates’ Court.

The 38-year-old admitted a charge of being drunk and disorderly.

Paul Ramsay, prosecuting, said that the incident happened on November 8 near to Dogleav’s home.

He said staff at Travelodge, Leeds Road, called police at 11am about an aggressive male who was refusing to leave.

Officers arrived and found Dogleav who, clearly in drink, was hurling drunken abuse towards the receptionist.

After a while he reluctantly left with officers who took him home.

Mr Ramsay said: “A police officer went to check with his wife if he could come back home in the state he was in.

“He (Dogleav) came up to the officer’s face and said: ‘What the f*** you bringing me back here for, I’m going to cause trouble’.”

When Dogleav tensed up and refused to move he was arrested.

Police offered him a fixed penalty but he requested a court appearance instead.

District Judge Pascoe fined Dogleav £55 as well as ordering him to pay £85 costs and £20 victim surcharge.
