DENISE Van Outen has started filming for hit TV series Where The Heart Is.

The former Big Breakfast star is filming on the outskirts of Huddersfield.

The Examiner revealed in January how the 30-year-old was heading north to appear in the TV drama.

But the Essex girl won't be ditching her distinctive accent.

She plays district nurse and single mother Kim Blakeney, who leaves the South to make a new start in rural Yorkshire.

It's a world away from her high-kicking antics in stage show Chicago in the West End and on Broadway.

But - as we reported in January - Denise was really looking forward to the new role.

Executives said then that they were excited to have such a bright star join the programme.

The new series airs later this year - but in the meantime viewers can see Denise in a commercial to raise money for breast cancer research.

The adverts, which will be screened next week, also feature other celebrities, including Prime Minister's wife Cherie Blair and model Jerry Hall.

Denise said: "I decided to get involved after my grandmother's experience of breast cancer."

Oscar-nominated director Mike Leigh has directed the ads for the charity Breast Cancer Care.
