FIRE crews battled a blaze in a derelict flat yesterday.
The fire was spotted in the flat at Bracken Square, Sheepridge, at 6.40pm.
The blaze quickly took hold and badly damaged the building.
The flat is part of a row of disused flats and shops.
Fire service watch manager Glenn Brown said local people had seen youngsters entering the buildings.
The police are investigating the cause.
