A COUPLE from Huddersfield will today tie the knot in a dream desert island wedding.

Louise Murfin and Steven Bennett, of Brackenhall, were among 16 lucky brides and their grooms-to-be who touched down in Nassau in the Bahamas.

And they were then whisked off to 16 different islands where Bahamian wedding planners are making the finishing touches to arrangements for today’s synchronised wedding ceremonies.

Each won the prizes in the Bahamas 16 Islands Wedding Invitation contest.

Nurse Louise and Steven are tying the knot on the remote isle of Acklins, which is literally a sun-kissed Caribbean island.

They won the dream package in a competition run on Facebook by the Bahamas tourist authorities and travel company Kuoni.

Louise is to wear a designer gown from Benjamin Roberts and the couple have wedding rings donated by Goldsmiths.

They will be joined by best friends Yvonne and Stuart Flitton as the prize is for four to enjoy the luxury trip. Louise’s mum Barbara has also flown out for the ceremony, along with friends.
