THE Mayor of Kirklees has opened a new cycle route.
Clr Eric Firth cut the ribbon at Sands Lane in Dewsbury on Thursday afternoon.
His Dewsbury East colleague Clr Paul Kane welcomed the development.
“The new greenway is a brilliant project which is helping to change the image of Dewsbury for the better,” he said.
“The development will provide the opportunity for people of all ages to make traffic-free journeys and to enjoy the countryside and the canal towpath.”
