A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of dealing in drugs.

Police last month attended a house off the Chickenley Lane area of Dewsbury following a tip-off.

They discovered a package containing controlled drugs and other dealing equipment.

And police made an arrest at the weekend in connection with it. A search of the 24-year-old’s home uncovered what police called a “very significant haul of controlled drugs”, including cannabis, bags of white powder, a large quantity of blue pills and cash.

The man has been released on police bail while further inquiries are made.

A police spokesman said they hoped the arrest would “put a major dent in the dealing activities of local criminals”, adding: “Police are delighted at this significant result in the Chickenley area, after months of intelligence gathering along with the strongly expressed concerns of members of the local community.”
