Police say they are not treating as suspicious the death of a Hungarian national whose badly charred body was found in the back of a van.

The body was discovered by firefighters when called out to the blazing vehicle in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Initially the death at RS Autos in Heckmondwike Road, Dewsbury, was treated as 'unexplained'.

But today Det Insp Andy Leonard said: "The death is non-suspicious and we are trying to contact his relatives in Hungary.

"It was a tragic accident. It appears he started it, (the fire), himself."

The 28-year-old man is understood to have lived in this country for at least a year and was living in Batley at the time of his death.
