TENNIS proved to be a real love game for a couple who have just celebrated their diamond wedding.
Margaret and Douglas Hollings, of Haughs Road, Quarmby, marked the occasion with parties for family, friends and fellow church -goers.
The couple met at Longwood Methodist Church. Both were in the church tennis club and both eventually went into the Forces in the Second World War.
Mrs Hollings was in the ATS and Mr Hollings was an armourer in the RAF.
He saw service in France, Belgium and Germany.
After the war, they ran a furnishings shop in Halifax.
They have two married daughters, Judith and Valerie, a grandson and a granddaughter.
The couple used to be keen walkers. They now enjoy gardening, reading, theatre and listening to music.
Douglas is a member of Colne Valley Probus club and the Lindley Art Society, while Margaret is a self-confessed crossword addict.
