KIRKLEES'S only British National Party councillor today pleaded ignorance over race hate views expressed in a BBC1 documentary last night.
David Exley was responding to Secret Agent, filmed in Bradford and Keighley.
Footage included a party member bragging about beating up an Asian man, another describing squirting dog mess through the letterbox of an Asian takeaway and a would-be councillor joking about shooting Asians.
Heckmondwike's Clr Exley said: "Like everyone else, I felt total disgust. I've heard extreme views within the party, but nothing like that before."
When the Examiner suggested that no-one would believe him, he said: "If I heard anyone say things like that I would do all I could to get them thrown out."
Two men have already been expelled from the BNP as a result of the film and police are examining BBC footage.
Clr Exley, an electrician who lives in mainly- white Birstall, said: "I welcome the police investigation. They must prosecute as required."
Bary Malik, of Bradford's Ahmadiyya Muslim Association, said: "I hope David Blunkett will take some action. The Home Secretary should see there's no room for a party like this."
