HULA hoops and Italian cuisine came together to raise cash for Huddersfield’s Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.
Stefania Brandano, of cookery school Cookitaliano, and her husband Sergio, who runs Don Luigi’s Restaurant at Liversedge, got together to stage the charity event.
Families were invited to make their own lasagne in exchange for a donation to the Bradley-based charity while the Halifax Road restaurant also hosted a sponsored hula hoop session.
The event raised £372 for the hospice. It is now planned to make it an annual event.
Stefania launched Cookitaliano with the aim of teaching children and adults to create home-cooked Italian meals.
She organises cookery sessions for adults as well as parent and child cooking events and children’s holiday cookery camps and cookery parties to help youngsters make pizza and pasta recipes using fresh ingredients.
