SIGHT-impaired people across Yorkshire are to enjoy better access to the radio, thanks to a charitable donation.

The Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation has given £1,000 to the British Wireless for the Blind Fund to buy specially adapted radio kits.

The kits, which include tape and CD facilities, are part of the charity’s Radio for Life project.

The Fund was launched in 1929 by Winston Churchill and provides audio equipment on free permanent loan to registered blind and partially-sighted adults and children in need across the country.
