TWO Huddersfield women have produced their own CD.

Katie Jones and Nikisha Sebastian, known as One + One, have produced a collection of originally written songs.

Katie is 23 and from Newsome and 20-year-old Nikisha lives in Almondbury.

The pair have been working as part of the Hoot music and dance project, supported by the Young Community Champions Pathfinder Fund.

The project, based at St Thomas's Church Hall, Longroyd Bridge, is dedicated to promoting positive mental health.

A spokesman for Hoot said: "We believe everyone has music inside them. We work with people to bring that out."

Katie and Nikisha's work is based around a theme of friendship, which is reflected in their name, One + One. They have been described as an inspiration to young people with mental health needs.

Katie said: "Recording for the first time was quite scary, but after I got used to it we had lots of fun."

Nikisha added: "We are really proud of what we have achieved."
