Police are investigating a suspected murder-suicide of a Huddersfield property director and his wife who were found dead at their home in Wigan.
Concerned neighbours rang police on Thursday morning and officers discovered the bodies of Mark Langtree, 48, and his wife Nicola, 44, at their large detached home in Woodlands Park Close in Wigan.
The couple, who have two young children, are listed as directors of Langtree Property Services based in Westgate, Huddersfield.
Mr Langtree is also listed as director of Langtree Estates of Huddersfield.
Post mortem examinations revealed Mrs Langtree, whose body was discovered upstairs, died of strangulation while her husband died from hanging.
Police have confirmed they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.
Friends of Mrs Langtree who was known as Nikki, posted tributes on Facebook.
Karen Kendrick wrote: “You were the kindest, most generous person I’ve ever met. I’m a better person for knowing you but a much poorer person for losing you.
“One day, I might be able to count the blessings of having had you in my life, for a blessing you certainly were.
“That day seems a long way off right now because all I’m feeling is the pain of you not being there.
“My darling sweet Nikki. I’m so sorry this has happened to you. I’d give anything to go back and change it.
“I’m holding your lovely family and precious girls in my thoughts and you of course. You’ll be in my thoughts forever. Good night, God bless sweet angel xx”
Mr Langtree was a computer consultant who graduated from Sheffield University who also holds a number of other directorships and has worked for Bank of America and Lloyds Banking Group.
Police will prepare a report on the deaths for the coroner.
