AN all-women choir is celebrating after winning two cups at a music festival.

The 20-strong Moorland Singers won two awards at the 39th Penistone Competitive Music Festival.

They won the Donald Booth Trophy for two contrasting pieces for female voice and the Neville Trophy in the open challenge choral class.

The choir was formed about five years ago. It meets between 7.30 and 9.30pm every Thursday at the Methodist Mission in Huddersfield.
