FORCES across Britain are continuing to search for a bin man linked to two brutal double murders.

Detectives want to question scarfaced Mark Hobson in connection with the murders of twin sisters and an elderly couple in North Yorkshire at the weekend.

Two women were arrested after an armed swoop at an address in Selby in the early hours of yesterday after reported sightings of the 34-year-old, but no trace of him was found.

The investigation began after the bodies of Hobson's 27-year-old girlfriend Claire Sanderson and her twin sister, Diane, were found at their flat in Camblesforth, near Selby, on Sunday. Both had been subjected to a violent assault and Diane had been strangled.

A few hours later, the bodies of housebound pensioners James and Joan Britton were found at their home in Strensall, 25 miles away.

Mr Britton, 80, died from stab wounds and other injuries, and had suffered a severe beating. His wife Joan, 82, had been viciously assaulted and stabbed.

Police warned people with large gardens to be on their guard after it was revealed Hobson had studied an SAS book on survival techniques.
