NEW faces are needed for a Slaithwaite drama group.

Starlight Drama 4u is looking for leading lights for its first summer spectacular.

The group was opened six weeks ago by Lydia Gledhill, a former pupil at King James's School, Almondbury.

She trained professionally at the Oxford School of Drama and now, after several years of professional theatre work, is keen to pass on her skills to youngsters.

She said: "Being involved in every aspect of the theatre is vital for any young, budding actor. It is the best training for a career or simply for the love of amateur dramatics."

Starlight caters for children aged between five and 18.

The youngsters meet at Slaithwaite Civic Hall and have fun taking part in singing, dancing, acting, costume designing, set-building, stage management and light, sound, hairstyling and make-up studies.

About 25 youngsters are now rehearsing for the school's first summer spectacular at the end of June.

Anyone interested in taking part can ring Lydia on 07766853733.
