A BUSINESS owner drove off after clipping another vehicle while over twice the drink drive limit, a court heard yesterday.

Timothy Chadwick hit the wing mirror of another car while driving in his Jaguar at two-and-a-half times the legal limit, Huddersfield magistrates were told.

Chadwick, who owns a meat wholesale business in Liversedge, drove off following the accident on Halifax Road, Hightown, Liversedge, in the morning of December 2.

The court heard Chadwick, 38, of Ogden Lane, Brighouse, had failed to give way to a motorist travelling in the opposite direction immediately before the collision.

The other motorist followed Chadwick to a business premises in Liversedge after the businessman drove off.

Chadwick, who admitted drink driving and failing to stop after a road accident, was fined £350 plus £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

He was banned from driving for 23 months.
