A DRIVER for a drinks company drove on Leeds Road with faulty brakes, a court has heard.

Andrew Bairstow, 26, of Ashenhurst Rise, is also accused of driving without due care and attention on January 12.

His employers, Continental Wine and Food, is jointly charged with the first offence.

The company is based at Trafalgar Mills, Leeds Road in Dalton. Both parties, who were not in attendance at Huddersfield Magistrates’ court for yesterday’s hearing, deny the charges.

They will appear before the court on December 6 for a trial.
