A DELIVERY driver was attacked and robbed when he chased three men who had stolen his takeaway.

The man was parked in Trinity Street, near Huddersfield Technical College, at 8pm on Saturday when three men opened his passenger door and stole his food.

The driver chased them down an alleyway to Queen Elizabeth Gardens, where he fell into bushes. The men then assaulted him and stole his mobile phone and some cash.

The man was treated at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary for head injuries and then went home.

One of the robbers was African-Caribbean and the other two were mixed race. All were in their late teens or early 20s.
