Police are searching for a man who ran off after crashing his car into a wall at Longroyd Lane, Longroyd Bridge, in the early hours of today.
The road, which is the main conduit between Manchester Road and Paddock, was sealed off from near The Bridge pub traffic lights to the road's junction with Gledholt Bank while a team of investigators examined the scene.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman was tight-lipped about the circumstances surrounding the incident saying only: "We got the call at 5.30am.
"A silver-coloured Vauxhall Corsa had crashed and the driver ran off from it. Enquiries are still ongoing."
It's not clear how many people were in the car at the time of the crash but it is understood that any injuries suffered by the occupants were not life-threatening.
