A HUDDERSFIELD drug dealer has been sentenced to more than six-years in prison.

And when 39-year-old Michael Robinson leaves prison he will be deported back to Jamaica.

Robinson was sentenced to six years and three months behind bars at Bradford Crown Court for possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply.

The drugs involved were crack cocaine and heroin.

The case follows a police operation in Huddersfield on November 7 last year when Robinson was arrested in Legend’s nightclub in Viaduct Street.

He was found with 23 wraps of class A drugs and later charged.

Det Con Ian Green from Huddersfield CID said: “We are extremely pleased with the sentence given to Robinson by Judge Durham-Hall QC at Bradford Crown Court and hope it sends a warning message to people who think that they can supply drugs to the people of Kirklees and get away with it.

“The public should also be reassured by the fact that we have specialist drugs teams working around the clock to tackle people like Robinson and put them before the courts.

“This has been another success in our battle against drugs and drug-related crime and I would like take the opportunity to appeal for anyone with information about drugs activity in their area to contact the police or Crimestoppers.”
