A TIP-OFF led drug busting police to arrest five people in Huddersfield.

The three men and two women were arrested on suspicion of drug offences as part of the ongoing war against banned substances.

Following up information from a member of the public, officers swooped in Deighton and recovered a large quantity of cash and what is believed to be controlled drugs.

The men aged 17, 19, and 21 along with the two women aged 19 and 33 were held on suspicion of a range of trafficking offences.

They were interviewed and released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Acting Det Insp Mick Turner, of the drug team, said: "This is yet another success story for Dob in a Dealer.

"We continue to work on information provided by the public every day and this is regularly resulting in arrests."

He added: "I would urge anyone with information to call Crimestoppers and allow the police to take action and clean up your area."

The Dob In A Dealer project now runs throughout most of West Yorkshire.

It encourages members of the public to pass on any snippet of information about drugs to a dedicated police team.

Anyone with information on suspected drug dealing can Dob in a Dealer on Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 anonymously. Calls are not taped or traced and no police will ring back.
