A drunk teenager threatened to bite a police officer’s nose off when he tried to arrest him for a theft.
Thomas Alcock, of Smallwood Gardens in Dewsbury, appeared before Kirklees magistrates yesterday.
He admitted charges of stealing Stella lager and resisting a constable in the execution of his duty.
The court heard that the offences happened on September 9.
Alex Bozman, prosecuting, said that Alcock stole 20 worth of alcohol from a Co-Op store in the town.
The 18-year-old was described as being “uncooperative” upon his arrest. Mr Bozman said: “He was making threats towards police. In interview he accepted that he couldn’t remember anything because he was drunk.
“He said that he probably did say that he was going to bite his (the officer’s) nose off.”
Sarah Stuart, mitigating, said that her client was very drunk at the time of the offences.
Magistrates agreed to adjourn sentencing so that he can be assessed for alcohol treatment.
He will next appear at the Huddersfield court on October 11.
