A HOME furnishings chain with a store in Huddersfield has tabled another rise in profits.
Dunelm, which has a store at the Ringway Industrial Estate, off St John’s Road, posted pre-tax profits up 5% to £4.85m in the six months to January 1 on sales 8.5% higher at £275.7m.
The results came as Will Adderley stood down as boss of the firm his parents started from a market stall in 1979.
Mr Adderley will remain on the board following his 15-year spell as chief executive.
He is succeeded by former Halfords executive Nick Wharton.
Under Mr Adderley’s leadership, the chain has increased its share of the homewares market by opening new stores and placing itself in the value-for-money sector.
It now has 110 Dunelm Mill stores, mainly in out-of-town locations, and has a market value of almost £900m.
